This painting is a unique acrylic painting showcasing a female kingfisher. The painting depicts the gentle radiance of the afternoon sun, accentuating the kingfisher's presence while creating a captivating juxtaposition with the blurred obscurity of the rock backdrop.
This painting was meticulously created using GOLDEN Open acrylics, which are highly regarded for their extended working capabilities. They allow me to develop a soft, luxurious finish that emulates the timeless charm of an oil painting. The painting substrate is a high-quality Gessobord by Ampersand. A premium wood panel that is warp-resistant, acid-free, and archival ensures the artwork's longevity.
One of the unique features of this painting is the subtle shimmer present in the dark background, achieved through the application of Micaceous Oxide paint. This mineral pigment provides a delicate sparkle that reflects light in specific lighting conditions. I also incorporated a modest quantity of GOLDEN Pumice Gel in order to introduce a subtle texture to the surface of the rock upon which the Kingfisher is perched.
