PAYMENTS & POSTAGE
A minimum of 50% payment is required on commencement of the commission followed by the final 50% after clarification of final image. Outstanding balances are to be paid upon completion of the piece, before the item is mailed out. Each piece may be subject to postage and packaging charges (unless otherwise stated) which covers any loss or damages in transit.
UK Deliveries
Postage is free for unframed portraits inside the UK. Each portrait is sent out on a 24 hour special delivery (no deliveries on Sundays) which are posted out Monday - Thursday. If you require a Saturday delivery (Friday postage), there will be an excess charge to pay which will be priced on size & weight of package. Ask for a quote if you require this.
International Deliveries
Outside the UK, deliveries tend to take between 5 - 7 working days. Postage is free for most unframed portraits outside of the UK (depending on size). If you wish to receive your portrait much quicker, let me know and I will get a quote for you.
Once the the artwork is complete, it will be securely packaged, and sent out using a reputable delivery firm. A reference number will be provided so you can check on the progress of your parcel, particularly if you are outside the UK or there may be delays. On delivery day, please check that there is no damage to your parcel before you sign for it. Let me know that your portrait got home safely, and do provide feedback on the service or a testimonial about your portrait, which will be added to your progress page.

ACCEPTED PAYMENTS & PAYMENT PLANS
BANK TRANSFER (UK Only)
A bank transfer is a quick and easy way of making payments for your portrait. Bank details & a reference number will be supplied so you can input this alongside your payment, allowing me to keep a track of payments. Payment is required before postage or collection of your portrait and an Email will be sent out as clarification of the payment as soon as it has been received in my bank. Please ensure you double check the bank details you input, and that they are correct before making the payment. |
PAYPAL
The safe and easy option for payments worldwide. You do not need to have an account to use PayPal as I will send an invoice directly to your preferred Email address. No card details are sent directly to me. The link in the Email will take you to the online invoice. You can then input your card details to make your payment. No card details are sent to me and the website is encrypted, so, safe to use. This payment option is available for UK and international orders. |
CHEQUES
I do currently accept cheques - cheques should be made out to: Karen M Berisford Please note that any payments made for final balances need to be received a minimum of 10 days before the portrait is posted out to you or collection day to allow the cheque time to clear. Longer may be required during holiday periods. UK Only. |
CASH IN PERSON
If you are collecting your completed portrait directly from me, you can opt to pay the final payment on the day of collection. Please ensure you get in touch prior to collection and arrange a suitable collection date. Only UK notes/coins are accepted and an invoice will be supplied with your portrait. |
PAYMENT PLAN
If you wish to spread payments over a period of time, you can opt for this payment plan. You can spread the cost of your portrait up to a maximum of 12 months without incurring no additional charges. Payments can be made via Cheque, Bank Transfer or Paypal. The portrait will begin upon receipt of the 50% deposit. The portrait is delivered after receipt of the final payment. Here's how it works:
Example 1:
12" x 12" acrylic painting (3mm) with tonal background (includes postage) = £320.00
Paid over 5 months @ £64.00 a month
Example 2:
8" x 10" coloured pencil portrait with no background or frame = £230.00 Payment over 12 months @ £19.16 a month
You can pay the same amount each month, or pay a little extra if you prefer to pay it off much quicker. Direct Debits are not available.
An Email or invoice (for Paypal payments) will be sent to you before or on the date the payment is due.

ARTWORK COPYRIGHTKaren M Berisford retains the copyright of ALL artworks produced and these may be reproduced by the artist for advertising purposes only.
Any photographs you wish Karen to work from must have permission from the photographer, either professional or amateur, before commencement of the artwork. Should you choose any of Karen M Berisford's own photographs, the copyright of the original photograph and artwork remains with Karen M Berisford and must not be reproduced for your own monetary gains, however Karen M Berisford may choose to reproduce the artwork as prints for sale. All artworks produced by Karen M Berisford cannot be reproduced in any way without express permission from the artist. Prints of the artwork can be purchased from Karen if required. DAMAGES TO PARCEL/ARTWORK
Should you receive your item damaged in any way, save your packaging and inform Karen M Berisford, providing as much photographic evidence of the damage to the artwork and the packaging as possible. The artwork should be sent back to Karen unless otherwise stated and a repair or replacement will be completed at no additional cost to yourselves. Details on return postage will be provided by Karen so please do not post it back without confirmation first.
FRAMED ARTWORK WITH GLASS
Glass in frames for framed artworks are NOT covered by any type of insurance with delivery companies and artworks are framed at the owners own risk (no framed coloured pencil portrait over 10" x 12" will be posted out due to possible damage) Any framed portrait will be packaged extremely well but incurs postal charges. Please ask for details if you wish your piece to be framed. Acrylics are NOT framed with glass.

REFUNDS POLICY
Each commission will need to be approved by yourself on completion. A final image will be posted on the individual's progress page OR a proof copy can be sent to you via E-mail before posting, if you prefer. If there are any problems or the artwork requires any changes, they must be stated BEFORE the item is posted out as once the piece is received by yourselves, postage costs to return the artwork back and forth to make further changes, will be your responsibility and costs will not be covered by Karen herself. The artwork will not be sent out until acceptance by the commissionee has been given.
If, on receipt of your commission, you no longer require the piece, you must return it to Karen in the original packaging it came. (return delivery charges will not be covered by Karen M Berisford) 70% of the payment will be retained by Karen M Berisford due to the time and effort put in and 30% of the payment (less original postage) will be refunded to you. This piece may be resold at the artists' descretion. If the piece can be resold, and dependant on the price it is sold for, you may receive up to 50% of the retained payment back.
If, on receipt of your commission, you no longer require the piece, you must return it to Karen in the original packaging it came. (return delivery charges will not be covered by Karen M Berisford) 70% of the payment will be retained by Karen M Berisford due to the time and effort put in and 30% of the payment (less original postage) will be refunded to you.
