This is Blanca. One of a trio of Boxer dog portraits that I was asked to create for the customer. You can find the other two, Brin and George, below.

This drawing was created using two separate images, crudely fused together (seen photo above). As Sarah wanted the collar showing, and it being hidden in the favoured head shot, so I put together this rough 'mock up' together of the 2 preferred 'areas'. This is tricky as you will create a 'frankenstein' which may impact upon the drawing due to the loss of detail and natural 'stance' being 'disturbed'

Male brindle Boxer dog in Coloured pencil

George was adopted in 2012. He had severe arthritis, and also a couple of lumps. He underwent surgery to remove these lumps, one of which was cancerous. Being prone to eye ulcers, he had to have one of his eyes removed due to Glaucoma. In spite of this he was a 'very happy, lovable old boy'. He sadly died in 2014 and his owner, Sarah, wanted a fitting tribute to him and her other Boxer dogs, Blanca & Brin. Although Sarah had many photographs of George, it was difficult to choose the favourite. In the end, this image was selected. Typical George with his pink tongue poking out.
