Star had sadly passed away a few weeks previous, when her owner approached me to create a portrait of her. Star was only 3 and a half. As soon as I saw the reference photo for her portrait, I decided the best way to portray her would be to centralise around her beautiful face and big eyes, and as this created a square frame, a 10" x 10" format was selected.

There were only a few photos of Star, all of them were low quality, phone images, so I chose the best composition and adapted the contrasts and tones.
