I am currently working on three oil pastel paintings, each featuring a stunning green 1956 Mercury Montclair car. These paintings are integral to a photo shoot that includes a blonde-haired woman dressed in authentic 1950s fashion, alongside the driver of the Mercury.
This particular painting highlights the female driver as she nonchalantly rests her legs out of the car window, showcasing her green high-heels. Having grown up in the 80s, the mint green high heels evoke cherished memories of a similar pair I once adored. The open arch in the composition invites contemplation of the journey ahead and what may lie beyond.
I rely on the superior quality of Sennelier and Caran d'Ache pastels for my oil pastel paintings. These pastels are opaque, which allows me to make corrections and add more colour if needed, resulting in exceptional performance. I used Clairfontaine Pastelmat to create each portrait. Pastelmat has an organic surface and offers excellent control, allowing for effortless, precision blending of pigments.
This portrait is available individually or as a complete set. It will be shipped without a frame, but rest assured that it will be well-packaged to prevent any damage or dirt. I highly recommend taking it to a trusted framer for secure mounting and framing. Every painting will also include a certificate of authenticity and aftercare instructions.
