Lennox - Boxer dog pencil portraitI was approached by Sarah for the first time to create 2 pencil portraits of her beloved Boxer boys Lennox & BRUNO. She absolutely adores Lennox and was heartbroken when she lost Bruno her previous Boxer and so I worked on both. Sarah had a large collection of photos of Lennox that it was difficult to choose her favourite but she chose this one and I too thought it captured him so well. Sarah also wanted her portraits framed too although I don't offer this service as a rule simply because of the possibility of damage in the post but for a portrait this size, it worked out well. MEDIUM: COLOURED PENCILS

THE COMPLETED PORTRAIT
THE CREATION PROCESS
The reference photograph was a large size image allowing me to zoom in and out of the photo whilst working from it, but as the photograph had been taken via a mobile phone, in this instance, a lot of fine detail had been lost, however I used other Boxer dog images in my own reference library for the detail and it worked well. As Lennox has dark colouring on his face, this indoor photograph made it appear slightly darker and so I lightened up all the tones in the Artwork to balance the over all appearance.
ADDITIONS TO THE ORDER:Sarah the Commissionee, asked if I was able to frame her portraits before posting them out to her - framing is optional (T & C's apply) and she was able to visit my framer's website to choose her own moulding choice, leaving me to choose the mounting options. Sarah also opted to have a name plaque added to her order too.

FINAL FINISH:This is the completed portrait which is double mounted with a Gold lower mount and Light grey upper mount to compliment the paper tone that the Artwork is placed on. The name plaque is attached to the bottom gold mount and the top mount has a window cut out to avoid the plaque touching the Artwork or scratching the glass. Here I am looking rather pleased with the framed piece, I think it compliments the portrait perfectly.

TESTIMONIAL:
Omg!! Lennox :) :) Totally totally beautiful! WOW! Very very life like, I am so very pleased.
Thank you so much Karen XXXX
Additional Orders:Here are other portraits that the Commissionee asked me to produce for her. All have been completed in Coloured pencils and Bruno (2nd image) was the first portrait that I completed of him which gave me good practice for the third portrait (far right)
