Bruno - Brindle Boxer dogBruno had sadly passed away a couple of years earlier and Sarah, the Commissionee wanted a keepsake of him. Although there were many photos of Bruno, there were none that I could get good, clear details from and was unsure of his natural colouration so this one was chosen to be the best and I ensured I adapted it using photographs in my Boxer dog reference library to try and create an overall balance.

CREATING THE PORTRAIT:
This was rather a challenge to adapt the reference photo to a natural colour as it had a green tint to the photo which left me having to guess a lot of the colouration. The photograph had also been taken from close quarters in a car which created a 'fish eye' type of effect and I had to adapt the perspectives to look as natural as possible. As Bruno had sadly passed away in 2012, getting more photographs was not an option and so worked along side as many other photos of Bruno as Sarah had available.
ADDITIONS TO THE ORDER:Sarah the Commissionee, asked if I was able to frame her portraits before posting them out to her - framing is optional (T & C's apply) and she was able to visit my framer's website to choose her own moulding choice, leaving me to choose the mounting options. Sarah also opted to have a name plaque added to her order too.

FINAL FINISH:This is the completed portrait which is double mounted with a Gold lower mount and Light grey upper mount to compliment the paper tone that the Artwork is placed on. The name plaque is attached to the bottom gold mount and the top mount has a window cut out to avoid the plaque touching the Artwork or scratching the glass. Here I am looking rather pleased with the framed piece, I think it compliments the portrait perfectly.

TESTIMONIAL FROM THE CUSTOMER:
Oh wow! Karen, I've got tears in my eyes writing this, crying. Miss him dearly. You have done Bruno beautifully.
Thank you so so much! from the heart xx
Additional Orders:Here are other portraits that the Commissionee asked me to produce for her. All have been completed in Coloured pencils and Bruno (far right) was the first portrait that I completed of him which gave me good practice for this second portrait.
