As an Artist working from photographs, it is natural for most Artists to take up
Photography as part of their business, and having found a passion for photography as well as Art, I was asked by a good friend if I would be the photographer for a local group of friends who wanted to do something special to raise funds for Chesterfields local Ashgate Hospice whose mission statement is:
"To enable people with palliative care requirements to have access to appropriate professional assistance and care and to help patients achieve the best possible quality of life in accordance with their wishes"
Of course I jumped at the chance and so a couple of dates for the photoshoots were set up, alongside a few glasses of dutch courage for the models during these shoots. Great fun was had by all and the easy job for me was pressing the button on the camera, the harder part is the editing, part of which I will be working on this weekend - 1 image has already taken 5 hours to edit so far and still has a way to go before it is complete, so as you can imagine, the designing will take a good few days, if not weeks to complete. I will be offering the calenders for sale through my website once they are available and if anyone wishes to purchase 1 or as many as you wish, to raise money for such a great cause, then please contact me.
I was contacted by the SAA a couple of weeks ago asking if I would like
to be part of the 'Introducing...' section in their quarterly members magazine - of course I jumped at the chance as the SAA is a large organisation aiming at anyone and everyone interested in Art - Amateurs & Professionals alike, and thought it would be good to 'Introduce' myself as both a Commission Artist and Art Tutor to all readers.
