I offer many different subject commissions, including Pets & Portraits, from all over the UK as well as International. As I work from photographs, you can E-mail me any images to take a look at and we can discuss requirements via phone or e-mail. Please take a look below at how the Commission order process works and if you have any questions not found here, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Step 1 - INITIAL CONTACT
I offer commissions in COLOURED PENCILS or ACRYLICS, examples of which can be found on my ART GALLERY page if you need help choosing - my style of Artwork is deeply intricate so each medium gives a very different finish.
When deciding on your portrait, important decisions include: What Size would you like? How many subjects? Do you require a detailed background? Do you have a completion date? Do you require FRAMING? and do you have a budget? All these questions play a part in the PRICING of your Commission.
If you wish to E-MAIL me, give me a call on 07854 677416 or fill in my BOOKING FORM for a 'no obligation' quote regarding your commission, please do, I am always happy to help and advise where needed.
Step 2 - PHOTOGRAPHS
Once you have chosen a favourite photograph of the subject(s) that you would like to be used for the portrait, please E-mail or post it to me along with any other photographs if you are unsure or if the quality is poor, so I am able to advise if the reference photograph is suitable or not. If you need help with what would make a good portrait or if you are taking your own photographs and need some help, please take a look at my CAPTURING GREAT PHOTOS page for a helping hand. Ensure images are e-mailed as large as possible. If you can zoom in to the computer image and see lots of detail, then this is a good indicator that I will be able to work from it.
VIA E-MAIL: If you are E-mailing them to me, please ensure you send large format images, not cropped or resized ones.
VIA POST: If you are unable to scan and E-mail the physical photographs yourself and prefer to post them to me so I can scan them onto my computer, I would recommend you send them using recorded delivery in case they are mislaid during the delivery process.
Post to: Karen Berisford, 14 Spital Crescent, Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, Northumberland, NE64 6SH
Ensure any photograph which will be used is free from COPYRIGHT. Professional photographs MUST have written permission from the photographer before it can be used as reference - this must be available for me to view before commencing a portrait.
Step 3 - PAYMENTS & DEPOSITS
A deposit of 50% of the total price (including Framing) is required before I begin the Artwork, this then secures your booking. The final 50% outstanding is due upon completion and pre posting. See my TERMS & CONDITIONS page before you commit, this covers important information including payments, returns and damages.
I also offer an option to allow people to pay monthly installments on their chosen commission if this is preferred at no extra charge. Installments can be made via cheque or Paypal and the commission will then be sent out upon final payment. For more details, please ask.
Step 4 - PROGRESS UPDATES
If your chosen subject is made up of two or more photographs, I will produce a mock up of the Artwork asking you to clarify before I begin the piece. Progress posts are added to my ART NEWS page as well as an individual page accessed via my CUSTOMER COMMISSIONS page where you can see the piece come together. I encourage any thoughts or feedback during the process in case there are any changes you wish me to make - it is easier to do this during the process rather than at the end.
Step 5 - CLARIFICATION & ACCEPTANCE
Upon completion of the Artwork, the final portrait will be posted on your individual page or I can E-mail a proof copy of the final image instead for you to check over. At this stage it is important that any changes you may wish to be made is stated, otherwise a clarification E-mail or phone call will be required so I know you are happy with the final piece in preparation for framing/postage.
Please make sure you read and agree to the Terms & conditions before ordering your commission. These cover returns issues as well as damages and other information that may be important to you.
